Cydiance Logger Reader
Receiving-desk quick start for the Windows USB reader.
Runs on a Windows PC at the receiving desk. When you plug in a Cydiance USB temperature logger, it imports the temperature CSV automatically and shows the data in your browser.
Install
- Unzip the whole CydianceLoggerReader folder to a fixed location (example:
C:/Cydiance/LoggerReader). Important: copy the entire folder — do not copy only the.exe. - Double-click
CydianceLoggerReader.exe. - A tray icon appears near the Windows clock.
- Your browser should open http://127.0.0.1:8790.
Daily use
- Keep the program running (tray icon visible).
- Plug in the Cydiance temperature logger USB.
- Wait until the device finishes writing files (usually 6 seconds or more).
- When import succeeds, Windows plays a short success sound.
- In the browser: pick a record on the left → view details and sample points on the right. Open PDF when available.
- Tray menu: Open Reader / Open log folder / Exit.
Notes
- The same CSV is imported only once. Unplug/replug the same data will not create a duplicate.
- Normal USB sticks (not Cydiance loggers) are ignored.
- Data is stored on this PC under
%LOCALAPPDATA%/Cydiance/LoggerReader(database, archived CSV/PDF, and logs). - Antivirus may warn about an unsigned app. Allow / whitelist the whole
CydianceLoggerReaderfolder, or ask your IT team. - If port 8790 is already in use, the UI may not open. Set environment variable
CYDIANCE_LOGGER_READER_PORTto another port (for example8791), then restart the program.
Optional: start at login
Windows Task Scheduler → trigger At log on → start CydianceLoggerReader.exe → set Start in to this folder.
