Cydiance Logger Reader

Receiving-desk quick start for the Windows USB reader.

Runs on a Windows PC at the receiving desk. When you plug in a Cydiance USB temperature logger, it imports the temperature CSV automatically and shows the data in your browser.

Install

  1. Unzip the whole CydianceLoggerReader folder to a fixed location (example: C:/Cydiance/LoggerReader). Important: copy the entire folder — do not copy only the .exe.
  2. Double-click CydianceLoggerReader.exe.
  3. A tray icon appears near the Windows clock.
  4. Your browser should open http://127.0.0.1:8790.

Daily use

  1. Keep the program running (tray icon visible).
  2. Plug in the Cydiance temperature logger USB.
  3. Wait until the device finishes writing files (usually 6 seconds or more).
  4. When import succeeds, Windows plays a short success sound.
  5. In the browser: pick a record on the left → view details and sample points on the right. Open PDF when available.
  6. Tray menu: Open Reader / Open log folder / Exit.

Notes

  • The same CSV is imported only once. Unplug/replug the same data will not create a duplicate.
  • Normal USB sticks (not Cydiance loggers) are ignored.
  • Data is stored on this PC under %LOCALAPPDATA%/Cydiance/LoggerReader (database, archived CSV/PDF, and logs).
  • Antivirus may warn about an unsigned app. Allow / whitelist the whole CydianceLoggerReader folder, or ask your IT team.
  • If port 8790 is already in use, the UI may not open. Set environment variable CYDIANCE_LOGGER_READER_PORT to another port (for example 8791), then restart the program.

Optional: start at login

Windows Task Scheduler → trigger At log on → start CydianceLoggerReader.exe → set Start in to this folder.
